A top US Air Force officer sent a shocking confession to his subordinates this week, warning of a war with China that he believes will unfold in the next two years.
General Mike Minihan — a four-star officer — sent an internal memo Friday to the rank-and-file who report to him within Air Mobility Command … a division that includes nearly 50,000 service members and oversees 500 aircraft for transport/refueling purposes.
US general predicts war with China in 2025, tells officials to be prepared: “I believe I’m wrong.” https://t.co/y7UsmKLpW6
Although the AMC did not appear to be a combat-ready organization, Minihan reportedly told his comrades to prepare for battle. NBC NewsIt claims to have received a copy of his note.
According to the outlet, General Minihan writes … “I believe wrong. My gut tells me to fight in 2025,” while describing what he believes China will do during the 2024 general election cycle — namely, use that swing in the states to go after Taiwan.
If this happened, Minihan is said to have drawn up a very detailed defensive and offensive plan … which included the creation of a “Joint Force Maneuver Group” that could mobilize quickly “to fight and win within the first island chain.” He has directed all Airwing Commanders and AF operational commanders to report on their progress by the end of February.
A few more… Minihan reportedly has goals in mind for February and March, which will see his boys shoot clips at 7-meter targets — noting, “Unrepentant death is critical. Keep your head up.” In March, he wants the AMC team to “consider their personal affairs and schedule a visit with their service base legal office to ensure they are legally ready and prepared.” He also asks them to update their emergency contacts.
Besides this, Minihan’s notebook talks about risk/reward in training … saying, “Run deliberately, not recklessly,” then adding, “If you’re comfortable with your approach to training, you’re not taking enough risk. .” NBC News also says he is discussing the potential use of commercial drone swarms as a tactic the U.S. could use against China.
In other words, this guy is rounding up the cavalry in very real terms…not assumptions. Nevertheless, a DoD representative went on record as saying that Minihan’s concerns did not reflect the department’s view on China … distancing themselves from what appear to be legitimate wartime preparations.
Here’s hoping Minihan stays in an over-prepared state… and it covers his basics. 😬
