McGriff mentions the name of the Arkansas executive

Full-service retail insurance broker McGriff has announced that it has promoted Arkansas sales president Taylor Mitcham (pictured above) to state executive officer. Mitchum succeeds Will Thames, who was named president of McGriff’s Charlotte, NC, operations earlier this year.

Mitcham joined the firm in 2004 as a commercial property-casualty preparer before joining the transportation team for another major brokerage in 2013. He returned to McGriff in 2020.

Since rejoining the company, Mitcham has twice won McGriff’s Best Sales Award. McGriff said he will continue in a sales role in addition to his new management responsibilities.

“Taylor has demonstrated great leadership acumen in her current role, and I believe she will bring those same qualities to her new role as managing director of the Arkansas region,” said Patrick Dessauer, president of McGriff’s Southwest Region. “Arkansas continues to be a leading source of new business for McGriff, and I have no doubt that momentum will continue under Taylor’s leadership.”

Mitchum’s promotion is the company’s latest leadership appointment. In August, McGriff was named Jason Dockery Senior Vice President and Head of Operations for its Real Estate and Hospitality practice and appointed Seth Buchwald As vice-chairman of its Executive Risk Advisors Transaction Risk Group.
