CHORDThe global standards-setting body for the insurance industry has announced its list of top insurance leaders for 2022.
This year’s Top InsurTech Leaders list was created in partnership with Alchemy Crew, whose co-founder and CEO, Sabine VanderLinden, is a frequent member of the list.
ACORD dedicated its 2022 Top InsurTech Leaders list to women leaders in the industry. While a recent congressional report pointed to significant gender disparities in the field, ACORD said it is important to recognize women’s contributions to insurance.
“Insurtech investors and customers have become more discerning and assertive, and near-term benefits have become more important,” said Bill Pieroni, ACORD’s president and CEO. “This group of leaders has demonstrated not only a remarkable vision, but also the ability to execute that vision and turn it into results. They stand out as pioneers of change and key drivers of progress in the insurance technology community.”
In compiling the list, the ACORD and Alchemy team focused on several key areas:

- Cooperation and Collaboration: These leaders realize that Collaborating with all types of industry stakeholders Leads to transformative, sustainable innovation. They focus on ensuring that new technology is informed by business needs and vice versa.

- Consistency and Content: These leaders are making the industry more accessible and equitable to colleagues and potential customers, as well as rethinking traditional processes to be more environmentally friendly and sustainable.

- Global environmentalists: These leaders recognize that interconnected systems and global digitization are now essential to efficiency and growth. They also go beyond the insurance space to learn from new and diverse sources of expertise.
