AIG Australia CEO Nigel Fitzgerald is the confirmed COO
16 December 2022
AIG Australia CEO Nigel Fitzgerald will leave the company from the second quarter of next year to join Steadfast as COO.
Firm CEO Robert Kelly says Mr Fitzgerald is a highly respected CEO with 25 years of experience across all general insurance sectors in Asia, London, the US and Australia.
“Nigel brings a broad and diverse set of skills that complement Steadfast’s revenue streams,” Mr Kelly said today. “We are delighted to have such a high caliber executive to further strengthen Steadfast’s management team.”
Sydney-based Mr Fitzgerald has been AIG CEO since December 2019, taking over from Noel Condon. Previously he was CEO of Fairfax International Australasia, before that he was CEO of Advent Capital Holdings in London and held senior roles at Liberty International Underwriters from 1999 to 2010.
At Steadfast he will take over as COO from Samantha Holman, who has taken up a new role as CEO of Steadfast Insurance Assets effective March 1.
“I would like to congratulate Samantha on her new role and welcome Nigel to the Steadfast team,” said Mr Kelly.
AIG confirmed Mr Fitzgerald had “announced his intention to leave AIG Australia”.
“He will continue to lead the Australian business until his departure,” a spokesperson told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“Nigel has made an incredible impact on Australian business during his tenure and we wish him well.”
